Alley Henry Mason Jr., 85, departed this life Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System after a long battle with heart problems.
Henry was a 35-year employee of Morristown Utilities, from which he retired. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving country honorably.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alley Henry Mason Sr. and Loretta Guthrie Mason; son, Jerry L. Mason; infant daughter, Loretta Bernice Mason; brother, George Mason; and sisters, Helen Proctor and Carolyn Smith.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 64 years, Barbara Mason; daughter, Cecelia Ann (Alonzo) Davis; brother, William (Naomi) Mason; grandson, Marteko Allen; great-grandson, Maliq Allen; great-granddaughter, Kamani Allen; sister, Henrietta Alston; a number of nieces and nephews; two devoted cousins, Versie Thornwell Mason and Betty Ann Barner; and dear friends, Clara Osborne, Juanita Clark, and Robert and Irene Fain and family. No visitation is planned. Private graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 25 at Hamblen Memorial Gardens.
