Shelby “Skip” Brooks, 79, of Rochester, New York, passed away Monday, March 2, 2020. He was born in Claiborne County to Clennie Goins Tate and Spencer J. Brooks.
He is survived by his wife, Hope McGinnis Brooks; children, Shelia, Angela, Minnie, Carmela and Lance; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of Rochester; sisters, Charlene Brooks and Brenda F. Yeary; uncle, MacArthur (Martha) Brooks; aunt, Helen Treece; niece, Melynda Brooks; nephew, Christopher D. Yeary; devoted and loyal cousin, Buddy Goins, all of Morristown; as well as his beloved Goins and Garett family and his Tazewell community. Arraignments by Dockery-Senter Funeral Home.
