by DFH Inc. on 01/10/18

William Fred Alexander Fugate aka Pressy Noe aka Bill Fugate, 83, of Morristown answered a call that he couldn’t refuse for an offer of eternal healing with God on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. He was born on May 2, 1934 in Morristown to the late Coby Fugate and Gladys Noe Fugate. Peace, love and victory filled the hearts of his children as they loved on him and each other as he transitioned to his heavenly home. He could always be seen working, fixing water leaks with Morristown Utility Commission, repairing lawnmowers in his basement, helping strangers, friends and loved ones in need, teaching and talking about the glory of God. His work on earth is now done. Mr Fugate was a dedicated and faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he served as Trustee, Sunday School Teacher and a member of The Brotherhood. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three of his children, Tina Ann Blevins, Jerry Houston, and William “Moses” Fugate Jr.  He  is survived by one sister, Betty Jo Ely; four sons, George  Fugate, Coby Fugate, Grant (Crystal) Fugate, Larry Houston; two daughters, Ulinda “Puddin” Fugate and Rhonda “Susie” Lynn Fugate; stepdaughters, Jamesena (Arthur) Smith and Renee Olden-Wagner; stepsons, Maurice Young and Freddie Olden; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, newphews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 1800 Cherokee Drive. A celebration of life service will follow with the Reverend Clifton Jackson officiating. William will receive his final salute as a Veteran of The United States Army as he is laid to rest at 2pm on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018 at the Veterans National Cemetery; 2200 East Governor John Sevier Hwy; Knoxville, TN 37920.
