Avelina Goins

Avelina “sissy” Wheeler Goins, 68, Went home to be with the Lord April 17, 2018. Sissy was born September 14, 1949 in Morristown. She was a founding member of Abundant Life Church. After working for30 years Sissy retired from General Electric in Morristown. Once retired, Sissy dedicated her love and time to church and family. The Word of God shone brightly through Sister Sissy’s spirit. Her never ending generosity and infectious laughter will never be forgotten. Sissy was preceded in death by her first husband,James Edward Wheeler Sr., and her husband Jerry Wayne Goins; mother Gertrude “Tiny” Brookins; sisters Deloris “Tink” Dailey and Billie Joe Kyle; and great nephew Jonathan Kyle. She leaves to cherish her memories her only son James Edward Wheeler Jr. And daughter-in-law Clarissa Maxwell Wheeler; grandchildren Ambur Wheeler and James Aaron (Rediet) Wheeler; aunt and close friend Neverda Crumb; nephew Terry (Gidget) Dailey; nieces Sandra and Kathy Kyle; devout great-nieces Shavone (Howard) Lovell and Sophia Lovell; all of her devoted great-nieces and nephews, cousins; and all of her church family from Abundant Life Church, pastored by her cousin Elder James Goins. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at Dockery-Senter Funeral Home on Saturday, April 21st with funeral services to follow. Burial will follow at Rock of Ages Cemetery. Abundant Life Church will be serving the family after the services.
