Barbara B.J. Blevins

Barbara B. J. Blevins, 76, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Heritage Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church. After retiring from State Farm Insurance, she volunteered with many charitable organizations both in the U.S. and abroad. Barbara was the daughter of Callie Pullen Lee and Raymond Jones Sr. She leaves her children Tracy Blevins, Amy Houston and William "Bill" Blevins (Russell Peeler), grandchildren William "Will" Blevins, Leah Houston and Jordan Houston, and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 22, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.at Bethel Baptist Church 1800 Cherokee Drive, Morristown, TN 37814, with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. With the Rev. Clifton Jackson officiating. Graveside services will follow at Bent Creek Cemetery.

Ms. Barbara Blevins was active in a number of local organizations. She will be missed by all.

B.J. and I shared some wonderful times together through the years. I will never forget when she broke her leg in NY. Her daughter and I had to get her in the car at the airport then in the house. I'm not sure who was laughing the hardest by the time we got her in. Such was such an encouragement every time I saw her. She has her crown and is healed. RIP B.J. Many prayers for the family for the days ahead.

I thought the world of BJ. She was a wonderful person who could light up a room with her smile. Will miss her.
