James Allen Moore

James Allen Moore was born on Sunday, April 7, 1935 in Morristown, Tennessee to the late Paul and Elizabeth Moore. James was the third child born to this union and was affectionately called “Jimmy” and by his buddies “Jack-Knife.” James Moore was raised in church and continued his walk of faith in 2012 at Life Church COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Anthony Starks. He was a faithful member and attended church regularly with his son and daughter, Philip and Laurie Moore. He was loved by all the members of Life Church COGIC. James began his education in Morristown, Tennessee and concluded it in Detroit, Michigan. Jimmy worked for General Motors until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and golf. He loved life and a good cup of coffee while chatting with his friends about the old times, places where he worked and growing up in Tennessee. James was married to Elizabeth Harrison (deceased) and to this union three children was born: Philip Moore, Pauline Moore and Marsha Moore and James; adopted: Cassandra Gentry, Clarissa Johnson and Portia Moore. James remarried, after finding love a second time to Mattie Green (deceased). The Lord called Brother James home on Sunday July 14, 2019. He is preceded in death by his father and mother Paul and Elizabeth Moore; sisters and brothers in law, Josephine (Karlee) Robertson, Billie (Earl) Stokes and brother Richard Moore. He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his son Philip (Laurie) Moore, two daughters Pauline and Marsha Moore, sister Lethia (Terry) Yeary, two brothers Paul (Linda) Moore, George Moore and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and many loved ones.
