Johnny “JY” Young

Johnny “JY” Young 76, resided at Heritage Nursing Home passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024 after a lingering illness.  He was saved and attended Rock of Ages Baptist Church and sung in the Choir until a massive stroke took his voice and damaged his vocal cords.  He never spoke or sung again.  He served in the United States Army.

He is preceded in death by wife Gladys Young, Mother, Opal Knight, Father, JW Proffitt.  Grandparents, Patrick and Josie Young.


Johnny leaves to cherish his memories three daughters; Tara, Latoya, Kesha.   Sisters, Kathy Luttrell, Sherry(Johnny) Kyle, One Brother Eddie Knight, half sisters Joy & Jackie Proffitt.  Half brother Jimmy Proffitt. One grandson Dareke, One granddaughter Chyann, Great grand children Amaree, Jasiell , Zhyann of Morristown. A host of host of nieces, cousins and friends.

Quandrus (Alvin) Fanney

Quandrus (Alvin) Fanney received his heavenly wings Tuesday, Jan 23 at Newport Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband, a beloved son and friend to all he met .He loved wrestling, fishing, singing, his job, most of all he loved to make people laugh.

He was preceded in death by his Grandmother, Mother and Father in-law, and three uncles. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 14 yrs April, children Son’Quana, Keyshaun, Jaden, Zendaya, Christian. Step children Erich Jamison and Alyshia Caldwell. Parent’s Johnny and Mary, brother’s Tommy(Twania) Litton, Ramon(Cindi), sister Denise. Special family and friends, Cody, Justin, Jennifer and Cameron, Jake and Duck (Jackie) Coggins along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He also leaves 7 bonus grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service February 10th, 1 p.m. at Thorn Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Simpson and Pastor Kenneth Peacock officiating.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and kindness at this time.

Charity Beatrice (Riley) Collins

Charity Beatrice (Riley) Collins, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister. Not a day went by that she did not speak with one of her children, siblings or friends. She let everyone know that her greatest joy was her family and her happiest times were spent with them.

She is survived by her three children Hubert Vincent Collins, Jr. MD (Cathy), Brenda Collins Perkins-Johnson (Leonard) and Gregory Thomas Collins (Dora) whom she adored; her grandchildren, Christine Collins Warren (Anthony), Anthony Collins, Mark Collins (Tia), LaTasha Collins, Torrie Perkins Harris (Roderick) and Daniela Collins; great grandchildren, Sean Collins, Austin Warren, Jayden Harris, Sofia Harris; siblings Daniel Chester Riley, Milton Riley and William Kenneth Riley, all of Morristown, Tennessee and Mildred Yeary of Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Charity will also be fondly remembered and missed by a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, distant relatives and numerous friends who loved her dearly.

Charity is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Nettie Riley, her sisters Ethel Mae Kimbrow, Clydene Fugate, Marjorie Coles, Doris Smith, Isabelle McBride and RubyParkey; her brothers Melvin “Joe” Riley, George Riley, and Grant Riley.

Family visitation will be on Saturday, February 3 from 10 – 11 a.m. at Dockery-Senter Funeral Home Chapel located at 117 East South Third Street, Morristown, Tennessee 37813 followed immediately thereafter by the funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. at the same location.
