Wayne C. Fain

Wayne C. Fain was born on October 16, 1955, and passed away on January 12, 2024.  He was the fifth of six children born to Irene C. and Robert H. Fain, Jr. 

 

Wayne was educated in the Morristown School System, graduating from Morristown-East High School.  He went on to attend Morristown College, The University of Tennessee where he earned a BS degree in Journalism, and Minnesota State University-Mankato where he earned an MS degree in Urban & Regional Studies.  He worked as a televisión news reporter and in corporate sales as well as in customer facing positions in retail, security and food service.

 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene C. Fain and brother Robert H. (Pat) Fain, III.  He is survived by his father, Robert H. Fain, Jr. and sisters Dr. Althia Ali, Rosaland Tyler, Angelia Fain, and Anna Fain.  Other family members are two aunts, Elaine Fain Whiteside and Juanita Clark who became his second mother after Wayne’s mother passed; sister in law, Dr. Juanita Fain; 11 nieces and nephews; 17 great nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; and Lisa Brooks.

 

Wayne enjoyed chess, excogitating patents, ancient religion/history, landscaping, and cooking.  He was exceptionally fond of his nieces and nephews and they all loved him.  He liked being the “cool uncle” that made it easy for them to share parts of their lives with him in a judgment-free zone.

 

Family visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00pm on January 23rd at Dockery-Senter Funeral Home.  The Celebration of Life will begin immediately afterwards at 2:00

Mabel Patterson (Bradley)

Mabel Patterson (Bradley), 87, of Rogersville, TN, passed away on December 30, 2023, in Morristown, TN. She was born in Rogersville on October 9, 1936. Mabel will be dearly missed by her loved ones.

She worked as a LPN for several years. She was retired from BASF in Lowland and was a member of Abundant Life Church.      She was preceded in death by her husband Norman Patterson Jr; parents Andrew and Sara Bradley; brothers Andrew Bradley Sr, Arthur Bradley, William Bradley.  Survivors include her son Norman (Jerrie) Patterson3rd; granddaughter, Kelly Greene; great granddaughter, Malayah Thomas; brothers, Andrew Bradley Jr, Rodney (Thelma) Bradley, Mickey (Lina) Bradley                            

A ceremony to celebrate Mabel's life will be held at Abundant Life Church. The family will receive friends on January 11, 2024 from 11 to 12 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. officiated by Reverend James Goins. Afterwards, family and friends are invited to gather at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens in Rogersville, TN. for graveside services.


London Katherine Goins “Nanny”

‘Nanny’ Goins was bornon April 17, 1941 to the union of Amanda and William Buis and was raised by her aunt and uncle Florida and Charles Treece.
She departed this life on January 2, 2024 at Serenity House. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Preston Eugene Goins and her husband of 60 years, Leroy G. Goins, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Debra ‘Cookie’ Wilder, Leroy G. Goins. Jr. (Steven Wells) and Teresa ‘Tesa’ Ewing – all of Morristown; sister-in-law, Pauline ‘Polly (Lacy) tate; stepmother, Helen Buis; four sisters, one brother, several nieces and nephews, seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; nineteen great-great- grandchildren; special grandson, Ivan Acosta; special friends, Ruth Isom and Yvonne Simpson; and a host of cousins.

The family would like to thank Serenity House, Amedisys and Michelle Toler.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, with visitation at 1 p.m. and the service to follow at 2 p.m., at Dockery-Senter Funeral Home, 117 East Third South St. Elder Ventrus Norfolk will serve as Officiant.

Interment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
